Sounding text

Postby kwvanleer » Wed Jul 18, 2012 12:38 pm

I am attempting to take WRF output and retrieve a text version of a vertical profile. I am aware of several techniques to plot a sounding (RIP, NCL, etc.), but I need the text version for input into Idealized runs. Any help is appreciated

With rip, it's done this way. The keyword "bogs" (for bogus) is added to the wind line and a sounding (on eta levels) is printed (in little-r format) to unit 66.

feld=tic; ptyp=sb; colr=black
feld=uuu,vvv; ptyp=sv; fulb=5mps;; nttl; sloc=KCHH;>
vvms=.02; bogs
feld=tmc; ptyp=sc; colr=red; linw=3
feld=tdp; ptyp=sc;; linw=3
