Emmisions Sensitivity Test Procedures?

Postby A. Wardall » Wed Jan 27, 2016 2:59 pm

Hello WRFforum,

This is my first post.

I'm doing sensitivity tests on ammonia gas for a Master's Thesis and would like to start with the default amount of emissions then progressively half them in successive simulations (default, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.). I think this will better show the sensitivity of the chemistry model because of the non-1:1 ratios often involved in chemical reactions and that this method will also show me how low emissions need to be to meet OSHA regs. A former student of my advisor did sensitivity tests for pm by multiplying emissions by 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. Is one method better than the other? Does it matter at all?

If anyone has experience with sensitivity tests, I would appreciate any input. The literature seems to pretty sparse regarding this particular type of sensitivity testing.
