WRF_Hydro test case issues

Postby gzittis » Wed Jan 20, 2016 4:57 am

I'm just getting started with WRF_Hydro and I am trying to run the first simple test case given on the website (Col_Bldr Creek).

Using the namelist files (hydro and hrldas) as they are the model works properly, but it generates a lot of output files in the folder where I have the executable, which is pretty annoying. I tried to add a simple line to the hydro.namelist file to save the output of the model in a folder specified by me. I tried both

OUTDIR = './results_hydro/' (which works just fine for the namelist.hrldas)

and

HISTORY_OUTNAME = './results_hydro/wrfhout_d<domain>_<date>'

In both cases I get the following error:
Program received signal SIGSEGV: Segmentation fault - invalid memory reference.

Any idea of how I can overcome this very basic problem?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It's possible your name may be getting translated to results_hydro/results_hydro/some_name which probably doesn't exist. Try getting rid of one of them.

You can see if your namelist file has a "debug_level" line. If so, set it a large number like 9999 and let it run. It may give you a hint on what it is trying to do when it fails.
