ndown problem in WRF V3.4.1

Hi,

I meet a problem when I run ndown.exe in WRF v3.4.1. The same namelist.input can work in v3.2.1 but can't work in v3.4.1.

The rsl.error.0000 file is as following:

Hi hchun,

The error message states that i_parent_start and j_parent_start in your namelist.input are not the same than in your namelist.wps.

If i_parent_start and j_parent_start in namelist.wps are indeed 1 (instead of 56 and 18), you have to fix that and rerun WPS.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem !!! I've been using WRF since 3.2 until 3.3.1 with the same scripts (we are doing a nested operational forecast) and when I'm using 3.4.1 I'm having this error.

What changed between 3.3.1 and 3.4.1 to have this error in the ndown stage ¿?

Hi kserradell,

The error is something like
" Nest start locations do not match: namelist.input vs gridded input file".

And indeed, there are different values for that in your two namelists.

namelist.wps
parent_id = 1, 1,
i_parent_start = 1, 112,
j_parent_start = 1, 108,

namelist.input
parent_id = 0, 1,
i_parent_start = 0, 112,
j_parent_start = 0, 108,

Fix that and it should work.
