WRF-CLM4 coupling. What about dynamic vegetation?

Hi all,

I wonder if someone here uses WRF coupled with land surface model CLM4.

My question is if the dynamic vegetation is available for this coupling. What I see from my run, is that LAI variable is not estimated during the run, and its values come from the monthly climatology that WRF provides from MODIS data.

So, to imagine that the WRF-CLM4 uses a static vegetation and not a dynamic?

Hello,
Sorry to ask this off-topic, but would you mind sharing your namelist files? I can't get WRF to run with CLM (sf_surface_physics=5), even after manually setting num_soil_layers=10. Is there any trick to it? Should I use a specific land use input?

Hello Gabriel,

If you've conducted prior runs using a different sf_surface_physics option, you'll need to re-run real.exe before running wrf.exe. Have you done that? That tripped me up on my first try.
