I have a WRF workflow that is dependent on a QSNOW variable in the WRF output files. I notice that when using WRF v3.8.1 with mp_physics=5, QSNOW is an output variable however, when running the same setup with WRF v3.9, there is no QSNOW output variable. I haven't found a reason or if this is supposed to be the case for WRF v3.9.

It is important because when running WRFDA v3.9, the perturbation (gen_be_ep2.exe) is still looking for a QSNOW output variable when it detects an ensemble member with mp_physics=5, even though it is non-existent in a WRF v3.9 run. Is this a known issue?

Even just a confirmation that this is the way it is supposed to work right now would be appreciated.
