Isolating effects of differing landscape data

Postby salmontres » Tue May 24, 2011 5:15 pm

I'm studying a problem at ASU using WRF: I'm trying to isolate the effect urbanization had over a developing city. (The Phoenix region, in my case.) In order to isolate the differences, I'm using different landscape data, such as the USGS and MODIS provided on the WRF users page. I'd like to learn more about the technical aspect of this question: where could I see what effect the landscape data has on the governing equations? I'm reading through both the user's guide and the technical note, but I'm not finding what I'm searching for specifically. I'd like to know what effect different landscape data is having on the ARW model?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
