Outputting downward fluxes of horizontal momentum

Postby KenCaldeira » Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:41 pm

We are just starting to use WRF but I am accustomed to using the CAM model where there are plenty of options for downloading

In the document for CAM (http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/a ... f2000.html), the following history fields are described:

OMEGAU m Pa/s2 32 A Vertical flux of zonal momentum
OMEGAV m Pa/s2 32 A Vertical flux of meridional momentum

Is there any way (preferably an easy way) to get these sorts of fluxes out of WRF? Can other vertical fluxes also be similarly output (e.g., downward flux of kinetic energy)?

I do not see any such output for the WRF history fields: http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/docs ... htm#fields

Is WRF depauperate in history output fields when compared with CAM?

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Ken
