WPPV3 aborts at runtime, random behaviour

Postby Oscar van der Velde » Sun Apr 27, 2008 3:33 pm

I have tried to get WRF postprocessor running on my ARW data, but no luck so far.
It compiled well with ifort+icc after all.
I use the script run_wrfpostandgrads.pl with correct paths. I stripped many parameters from the wrf_cntrl.parm for a test, it should output just basic fields and also helicity and LCL height. This is what happens when I run the script:

1) wrfpost.exe aborts for some files, not all
2) nevertheless the output is converted to grib and gribmapped for a ctl file
3) the ctl file contains only the very basic fields for all files (9 variables) but 19 variables for certain forecast hours (random between different runs of the script), including helicity, surface temperature, etc, but still not LCL height.
4) it did not appear to matter which ones aborted and which did not, with respect to the final contents.

I have no clue what is going on. One would expect it would behave the same for all forecast output files.
Any help would be appreciated.
