WRF 3.8.1 tar file misses some F90 files in frame directory

Postby malik » Tue Feb 07, 2017 12:21 am

WRF 3.8.1 tar-file (downloaded from http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/src/WRFV3.8.1.TAR.gz) misses some F90 files in "frame" subdirectory. For example, module_io.f90 is missing. Only *.F files exist there

This results in the absence of module files, such as module_io.mod in that directory during compilation, and gives error.

I have downloaded the same version from the same location 4 months ago, and was able to install successfully. Something has happened in between.

Can someone confirm whether they faced this issue? Or, any mistake I commit? To me looks like, the source code tar file has changed.

I was wrong. It was due to anything other than what I have suspected above.

Looks like this is due to re-compiling without clean-up. I deleted the WRFV3 directory, and did the installation by doing untar, configure, compile. It worked.
