VEGPARM.TBL error WRF-Chem ndown.exe

Any issues with running WRF Chemistry

VEGPARM.TBL error WRF-Chem ndown.exe

Postby michaelhewson » Tue Dec 20, 2011 10:03 pm

g'day WRF-Chem community,

At the final WRF-Chem ndown step - running wrf.exe (producing the wrfout* for the inner domain after ndown etc) I get the following error message in the rsl.error.00xx files;

INITIALIZE THREE Noah LSM RELATED TABLES
Skipping over LUTYPE = USGS
Skipping over LUTYPE = MODIFIED_IGBP_MODIS_NOAH
Skipping over LUTYPE = USGS-RUC
-------------- FATAL CALLED ---------------
FATAL CALLED FROM FILE: <stdin> LINE: 1555
Land Use Dataset '' not found in VEGPARM.TBL.
-------------------------------------------

Does anyone know what the issue is? It seems something is missing during the ndown step as the error did not occur in the generation of the outer domain (ruling out problems with the VEGPARM.TBL itself).

My thanks

This problem may be related with the global attribute of wrfinput_d01.
LUTYPE of wrfinput_d01 is not assigned by any value (you can find that by typing ncdump -h wrfinput_d01).

In the real.exe step,
namelist.input must have different option comparing with namelist.input of wrf.exe step.
so, io_form_auxinput5, io_form_auxinput6, io_form_auxinput7 and io_form_auxinput8
all have the value of 0.
This may make LUTYPE of wrfinput_d01 has proper value.
