The convert_emiss.exe cannot read emissopt3_d01. It is soft linked from the *ab.bin file in the PREP_CHEM_SRC-1.5/bin directory.

Both the *ab.bin and emissopt3_d01 have size to them.

What could be the issue?

Hi Jonathan,

It seems that the byte size of the Prep Chem Sources binary files that you are generating are not compatible with WRF. What compiler did you use to compile WRF? The choice of compilers makes a difference.

For example, if you compile WRF with PGI, then you would need to append the prep_chem_sources.inp namelist to include

output_byte_size = 4,

as its own line before the $END.
