flex: Command not found

Postby adprest » Mon Jul 27, 2015 6:07 pm

Has anyone ever gotten the following error before when installing WRF-Chem with KPP?

flex scan.l
make[1]: flex: Command not found
make[1]: *** [lex.yy.c] Error 127

The above error shows up in my compile.log. I receive no errors in my configure.wrf file. Before I run ./configure, I set all the following environmental variables:

module purge
module load intel-openmpi
export NETCDF4=1
export J="-j 4"
export WRFIO_NCD_LARGE_FILE_SUPPORT=1
export WRF_EM_CORE=1
export WRF_NMM_CORE=0
export WRF_CHEM=1
export WRF_KPP=1

I also set my YACC and FLEX_LIB_DIR paths to those that have worked with previous graduate students

export YACC='/panfs/storage.local/met/fuelberg/nkh09/Thesis/WRF/KPP_WRFV3/YACC/byacc-20120526/bin/yacc -d'

export FLEX_LIB_DIR=/panfs/storage.local/met/fuelberg/nkh09/Flexlib/flex-2.5.37/lib

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ari

I was able to resolve this problem. Because my "flex" directory was not in the same path as WRFV3, I had to manually give the complete "flex" path in the configure_kpp script located in WRFV3/chem/KPP.

FLEX="flex"
changed to
FLEX="panfs/storage.local/met/fuelberg/nkh09/Flexlib/flex-2.5.37/flex"

Please let me know if you have any further questions about this issue!
