ecmwf_coeffs - interim

Postby miklosera » Wed May 01, 2013 9:09 am

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to run the model with interim data as well but I'm a little bit stucked.
My question would be about the ecmwf_coeffs. So I downloaded the ECMWF data for all pressure levels (37) and for the surface...I was planning to run the model on 27 levels. Can I do that? Or it has to be one of this?

Unfortunately the link in the post no longer works but I'm guessing you're talking about something like this:
http://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/docum ... del-levels
In the end, the number of vertical levels of the WRF should be similar to those of the input information. You might have wonky results if your input information contains 24 vertical levels and you're trying to interpolate to 60.

So in the end, yes, I believe this is a reasonable model set-up.
