Hi all,

I have successfully ingested CLC 2006 data into my WRF simulations.

However, my simulation domain does'nt cover only Europe, but also a part of Africa. Thus my LU_index is null over the African continent ...

Do you have any suggestion to fix this problem ? Is there a way to combine CLC data with USGS ?

Kind regards,

You will need to edit the USGS data programmatically.

Greetings all,
In the last months, I used some combination of the above methods to successfully use CORINE data and run WRF [V3.6.1]. So far so good.

Just yesterday I followed the same steps (AFAIK) but with a modified remapping scheme. Geogrid runs without errors, metgrid runs without errors, real.exe doesn't give any errors... BUT wrf.exe quits silently (without throwing any errors @ default level 1000) in the first

The last lines before the crash are below. My interpretation is that It has just created the output file for the second domain and then defines the tiling strategy for second domain before calling the solver, where it crashes in the NOAH surface module.... but the strange thing is the second domain does NOT use the modified landuse. Maybe the problem has nothing to do with my custom landuse, but if not that, then what?

I'm not really sure how to proceed from here. If there was an obvious problem with my input data, I would expect geogrid not to be able to process it. So expect it is something subtle.

Solved. It was indeed something subtle. I had defined inland water bodies as a separate category (28) to avoid the "hot lakes" problem, however I had forgot to add the line "islake=28" to my index file with the geography data file. Using custom input data in WRF: Not for the easily frustrated.

Hello, first of all, thank you for the usefull information in this post. I have the same question as firvain69. Are the scripts available? Is there a newer metod to use Corine in WRF 3.9?

Thank you very much¡¡
