Adding A Customized Variable to WRFv3.9.1 Diagnostic Output

Hello everyone,

I successfully compiled and configured WRFv3.9.1 and ran multiple simulations to test its output. Everything looks fine, however, I'd like to add multiple winter weather variables directly to WRF's diagnostic output ('wrfout...nc' files). The variables that I'd like to add aren't available in WRF's registry files nor will they be available using a post-processing program such as UPP. Thus, I must create modules manually.

What I'd like to do, for example:
For all points j by i within my domain, determine 'SR' by,

DO j = jms,jme
DO i = ims,ime
grid%SR(j,i) = 5*(278.15-T2(j,i))**0.4
ENDDO
ENDDO

Then, add this new gridded variable (SR) into 'wrfout..nc' files. I read a couple threads, but they're a bit too complicated for me to understand. Any explanation will be greatly appreciated!

This is the explanation that I'm trying to follow for the time being.

Thanks!
