automatic votex following problems

Hello all,

WRF is having a segmentation fault and dumping the core soon after initializing the nest.

I am trying to run a simulation with automatic vortex following. I have a parent domain with 20km resolution and one nest with 10km resolution. I compiled wrf for vortex-following nests, changed the resolutions and time steps, set feedback = 0, initialized the nest 24 hours after initializing the parent domain, and set up the model to use SST inputs (sst_update = 1).

When I run real.exe, I get this error:

So I set io_form_auxinput2 = 2 in the namelist.input file, and real runs ok, except for this error

I didn't try to fix this error. The online instructions said I only need initial data (from 00Z 9/14/2010) for the nest, and that's the only data I'm using for the nest.

Anyways, then I run wrf.exe. WRF runs fine until it gets to 00Z 9/14, and then I get these messages as wrf tries to run for the nest:

This goes on for a while, then I get the "would go of the top" error message and the core dumps.
Does anybody know what's going on here?

Just to let people know: I don't have this problem anymore. I think the vortex I was trying to follow was too weak.

hi.
at userguide have :
To make the automatic moving nested runs, select the ‘vortex-following’ option when
configuring. note that this compile would only support auto-moving nest, and will
not support the specified moving nested run or static nested run at the same time.
no nest input is needed.
that means :
input_from_file = .true., .false.,
feedback=0.
also is good decrease your time step.
