a 3 two-way nesting problem

Postby rust123 » Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:38 am

I am running ARW simulation with 3 two-way nested domains using WRF3.2.1/Noah/UCM,what confused me is that the more numbers of cpu are used, there is the less running time ,for example, if i use 128 cpu,the running time is only one day, then the ''forrtl: severe (174): SIGSEGV, segmentation fault occurred'' appeared in the rsl.error.0000, but if i use 16 cpu, the running time could be 12 months when the same error turned up in the rsl.error.0000.
who can help me?thanks

this error may be caused by shortage of memory.

unlimit stacksize (if you use C shell)

ulimit -s unlimited (if you use bash/Bourne shell)

Then try running wrf.exe again.
